Blossoming almond trees and a corral with sauntering horses form the backdrop of the newly opened McClarty Center at Reedley College, which provides a much needed performance space for a small agricultural town of 25,000 located in the Central Valley of California. To accommodate a wide variety of performance types, the 500-seat hall is outfitted with adjustable acoustics through an electro-acoustic enhancement system, with hidden loudspeakers and microphones to provide clarity for spoken word, intimacy for solo musicians, and reverberance for large choral and orchestral groups.
